in situ
Studio West - Ausstellung Nr. 19

The international group exhibition ‹in situ› showcases contemporary art that deals with the crimes of the Nazi dictatorship. The participating artists explore how memory work can be done today. They use various media that are capable of establishing diverse connections between the past and the present. The importance of remembering the synchronization, the book burning, and the Shoa, was recently demonstrated in the anti-Semitism scandal surrounding Documenta (2022), as well as the attacks in Halle (2019) and Hanau (2020). ‹in situ› trusts in the power of art to update history and thus make it accessible to future generations.
