In Studio West, Corinna Mayer is presenting a selection of works from a series centered around the theme of humans and machines. Created between 2017 and 2025, these figures, inspired by art, pop culture, and lifestyle, appear alongside bizarre machines, seemingly vying for attention at the heart of the collage-like compositions. It is an exploration of the complex inner workings of humanity, where the conscious and unconscious, the experienced and the dreamed, as well as the past and present, merge to form a new reality.
Corinna Mayer's art spans painting, drawing, mural art, installation, text, singing, and performance. Her two-dimensional works have been exhibited nationally as well as in Italy, Austria, Spain, and South Korea. She has received numerous grants, including residencies at the Künstlerhaus Balmoral and the Atelierstipendium of the City of Frankfurt am Main. In the 1990s, she studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt under Hermann Nitsch. She lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.
