The exhibition «Bilderkosmos Lichtwiese» presents a comprehensive series of drawings by Stefan Schwarzer, created since 2025 on the Lichtwiese campus in Darmstadt. Schwarzer is a research assistant for visual arts in the Department of Architecture at Darmstadt Technical University. His workplace is located in close proximity to meadows, trees and forest edges – a topographical situation that becomes the starting point for an intensive artistic investigation.
As if drawn by a magnet, the artist visited various locations on the Lichtwiese over several months and drew fragmentary sketches of what he saw and what escaped his gaze. The focus is not on lifelike depictions, but on the inbetween, on moments, atmospheric condensations and inconspicuous details. The result is a multi-layered series whose visual language is fed equally by observation and perception.
An artist talk moderated by Prof. Katharina Immekus and students from the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt is planned for Friday, 24 April at 6 p.m.
