Presentation of Michael Maierhof´s workshop
With participants of the Darmstadt Summer Course for New Music

Michael Maierhof´s compositions-laboratory and participants of the Darmstadt Summer Course for New Music approach the term of discontinuity with different strategies: with or without sound, compositionally, installatively. The workshop is about discontinuity as a gap, a blind spot, a change of media, a musical construction of forms, an alternative to wrong causality. In this sense, discontinuity can be understood as a risk in the face of well-tried forms and formats. With his call Maierhof addressed artists interested in topics like current inhomogeneous realities and forms of division within society. The works created will be shown together with the presentation by Christina Kubisch´s workshop in the Kunsthalle Darmstadt.
