For four years now, First Friday has been an important part of the event program at the Kunsthalle Darmstadt. Every first Friday of the month, the ongoing exhibition is opened in the evenings and supplemented by a musical program. Even in a time without local events, the Kunsthalle wants to continue this format and publish a digital series for First Friday. The individual episodes are designed by the invited artists.

In June, artist Zoé Mahlau will perform on our digital channels with her piece ‹232164 at the first level›. Live sampling and the entanglement of movement and sound are recurring elements of her sound installations and music performances. This time the focus of her performance is a Steinway grand piano with the number 232164, through which she explores the relationship between improvisation and method, between freedom and limitation. The performance, which was recorded in the rooms of the HfG Offenbach, can be seen on June 5 at 8 p.m. on the YouTube channel of the Kunsthalle.
