From 27 September to 15 November 2026, Wolfgang F. Klee will be presenting a selection of his later works at Studio Ost to mark his 90th birthday.
The exhibition brings together drawings and three-dimensional objects by the artist, whose work was previously exhibited here in the 1980s. In the tradition of "Abject Art", Klee uses the offensive to expose social power structures and existential cycles of life. His three-dimensional "little men" in their "cardboard habitats" merge with one another through actions that are at times extreme and grotesque. Behind this visual harshness, however, there is always a vulnerable search for human connection.
This evening, we are celebrating the simultaneous openings of the exhibitions by Hilarius Hofstede and by Heide Nord and Anna Vovan.
