Reading and discussion «Ein Abend für Brasilien» - «An evening for Brazil» With Paula Macedo Weiß, Rosilene Luduvico and León Krempel

Against the background of the upcoming elections in Brazil at the beginning of October, the Kunsthalle Darmstadt invites you to a special event: ‹An evening for Brazil. With Paula Macedo Weiß, Rosilene Luduvico and León Krempel›. The Brazilian author Paula Marcedo Weiß reads from her book ‹Once upon a time in Brazil›, in which she reports on her childhood and youth under the military dictatorship. She then talks to the 'Primavera' artist Rosilene Luduvico, who is also from Brazil, about growing up and experiences, as well as red-hot topics relating to the South American state. The event will be moderated by the director of the Kunsthalle León Krempel.

The Brazilian-German author and lawyer Paula Macedo Weiß «*1969, Londrina» grew up in the state of Paraná in Brazil. From 1989 to 1993 she attended the Universidade Estadual de Londrina and then initially worked as a lawyer. In 1994, her path led her to the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen, where she completed her master's and received her doctorate in 1997. She has been working as a freelance cultural producer since 2011, and in 2014 she became President of the Museum Angewandte Kunst Foundation. Her book ‹Once Upon a Time in Brazil› was published in 2021, followed by ‹Let's Talk About Democracy!› in 2022.
